The students said that they heard that the government of Tigray region said that "newly assigned students of the region in the 2012 school year will not go to Amara region because they may be attacked."

The statement issued by the regional government restricts the right of students to study in any part of their country, and separates them from other Ethiopians, so they come and study in the universities of Amara region.
